Hi, I'm Jose Alvaro Leos
Software Engineer
I build responsive, accessible web applications with modern technologies. Passionate about creating clean, efficient code and constantly learning new skills.

About Me
Who I Am
I'm a Software Engineer and recent Computer Science graduate from Santa Clara University, focused on building intuitive and responsive full-stack applications. I specialize in the React and Node.js ecosystem and have experience developing production-ready web platforms, integrating REST APIs, and deploying apps with cloud tools like AWS and Vercel.
My recent work includes TheMoveIn.com, a real-world platform for renters to document move-in conditions and protect security deposits, where I implemented secure user authentication, cloud storage with AWS S3, and a PostgreSQL database hosted on RDS.
I'm constantly learning, whether it's new technologies, real-world systems, or just hearing how others approach problems. I'm curious by nature and always looking to grow as a developer and as a person.
Beyond tech, I'm a huge video game nerd, espresso enthusiast (still failing at latte art), and weekend mountain biker. I'm also passionate about the arts, whether it's animation, indie games, or visual storytelling.
What I Do
Frontend Development
I build responsive, accessible interfaces using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind. My focus is on clean design and smooth user interactions.
Backend Development
I develop and connect REST APIs using Node.js and Express, with experience working with PostgreSQL and MySQL. I've also applied various programming languages in academic projects and OOP-focused tasks.
Cloud DevOps
I've deployed full-stack applications using Vercel and AWS (EC2, RDS, S3), and I'm comfortable working with serverless functions and basic CI/CD workflows.
Problem Solving & CS Fundamentals
Proficient in algorithms, data structures, and collaborative problem solving using Java, Python, and JavaScript.
